Trump wants it. The GOP is sitting on their hands, watching it happen.
It really is that simple.
As but one example, see this morning's "His People/My People" remarks. That could scare the SHIT out of everyone, left, right, center. Assholes should be puckering/tightening around the world.

(951 posts)Let them actually try to enforce any of this dictator shit on the nation and see if you don't have a rebellion.
I know I won't bow when they come demanding it from me, and I know sure as shit I'm not alone.
America has already tasted sweet freedom, as a whole, we won't let that go without a fight.

(28,270 posts)If we do not have a blue tsunami at the polls in the midterms, a Trump/GOP dictatorship is gonna happen.
Trump will declare himself fuhrer for life and quote some Bible verse and it will be a done deal.

(21,155 posts)They did after FDR won his 4th term. And no people in congress have term limits. They only leave by resigning or not running again. The only branch that cant be removed is the Supreme Court.
The only thing I am afraid of is them dissolving the constitution and the Supreme Court ruling for and legislative action which requires 2/3s in both houses. Thats aid only a real civil war with states demanding seceding for the federal government. That said I feel Im being too dramatic. People are waking up and Twitler is not gaining supporters. Each day we witness the insanity of Twitler we get rid of him.

(36,470 posts)I have a non-political friend who has minimized the danger that Trump is, from the beginning, & continued to do so until last week when she finally said, "I'm really worried."
If the dems don't gain control of at least one chamber of Congress in November, then it's probably over. They will have been effectively neutered. They are partly to blame for this clusterfuck. They dropped the ball and got complacent while the GOP was busy working at all levels of government so they could ratfuck the electoral process & take over the government.
I read McConnell has finally jumped on the "it's time to end this investigation" bandwagon. I guess he doesn't want to go into the mid-terms with surprise arrests & indictments going on. I only hope there's one with his name on it. Seriously, if the Con goes down but McConnell is still in place, we'll be back down this road again. The entire GOP is corrupt to the core & only cares about unlimited, unchallenged power. We could be truly fucked.
