Ex-Trump campaign chief Paul Manafortpleaded not guilty to new witness tampering charges Friday morning in federal court before prosecutors began arguing to a judge that his $10 million release bail should be revoked or tightened.
Manafort, 69, is currently required by his bail agreement to remain confined to his home, while wearing GPS tracking devices, while awaiting two separate federal criminal trials.

Mueller's team in an earlier court filing said that Manafort's "obstructive" conduct, which included reaching out in the past several months to the potential witnesses with encrypted message apps, "instills little confidence that restrictions short of detention will assure Manafort's compliance with the court's orders and prevent him from committing further crimes."
During the hearing, Judge Amy Berman Jackson pressed a prosecutor on Mueller's team on the question of whether Manafort currently represents a danger to the public.
The prosecutor said that Manafort is a threat because of the likelihood that he will commit new crimes."
