He's going to jail... orange jumpsuits, a cot and mystery meat instead of his luxury apartment, Armani suits, Egyptian cotton linens, and the finest cuisine. Tick tock... Tick tock... "Hello, I'd like to speak with Mr. Mueller."

Believe me, it's not a place you want to be for any length of time.

Manafort has a unique purity of spirit in his apparent ease in doing scummy stuff. That boy is just not troubled by anything.
Flipping won't buy him much, given how deep he's in. His best bet is to hold out for a pardon.
So my bet is on him going old school omerta.

. . . in his past. DC jail will challenge all that.
Our right brain, feelings, operate on their own level.
Flipping before Cohen could help him a lot. [Sammy the Bull Gravano, 12? murders, prison time dismissed on the flip]
Will see.

(62,444 posts)10. Well, it's under pressure that true character emerges
Jail is probably the safest place for him.
It's either going to be that or the Witness Protection Program.
What's he gonna do? Get a job shoveling shit in Chicago, fuck up one day, and his whole family gets poisoned doorknobs?
Screw that. Get a pardon and get his ass onto a private plane for a nice place on the Black Sea, with seats for everyone in the family who wants to come along for the ride.
All of this "if he's pardoned, he has to testify" stuff is nonsense. He's not going to be doing any testifying from the shores of beautiful Lake Baikhal. It's like Tahoe with the occasional meteor impact.
If he folds, I will have sorely underestimated him.
