There's a scene where John Gotti is in prison, having just been sentenced to five consecutive life terms, and is being visited by his wife and she confronts him with the fact their son John Gotti, Jr.who is now the acting boss is being targeted by the Feds. She asks him why he brought him into this business. He says it's all lies. His wife says it's on the front page of all the newspapers. Gotti says it's all lies or as POTUS calls it fake news. As an aside I don't believe for a minute his wife didn't know her son was in the family business.
In another scene Gotti and one of his underlings are discussing the hit on Paul Castellano that Gotti engineered. Gotti blamed it on the police
In another milieu Trump would have been a mobster, albeit a feckless one. Ditto for his pal, Giuliani. In another milieu Giuliani would have been a mobster but more likely a consiglieri.
Critics don't seem to like it. Maybe because they see it as a hagiography of Gotti. Hey, we have a mobster in the White House.
