Jefferson Beauregard Sessions and Sarah Huckabee Sanders are telling us that God wants kids traumatized, separated from their parents and held in detention centers.
And, oh yeah, fuck the parents -- jail 'em.
But they're telling us that everything's okay because the bible says so.
Although I am a devout agnostic, I feel that a horrible evil has descended upon us.
So here's my question.
Are we just going to do nothing and hope for a "blue wave" in November?
And in the meantime, what about those terrified, children? And their desperate, terrified parents who don't know where their children are or what's happening to them?
What have we become?

(23,105 posts)We can talk to people and write letters to newspapers, but that's about it for any specific issue. Repugs have majorities of all branches of the government and they are cruel and murderous and the few that aren't that are total cowards and afraid of drumpf and Russia. We (dems) have no ability to introduce bills, none go to the floor without Lying Ryann or McTurtles approval and neither of them will buck drumpf. There is a bill in the House to stop this, but it also gives 245 billion for wall and border security (boo), end diversity visas, ends reuniting families, so is not a great bill at all but Dems will probably support it to stop the torturous freaking inhuman practice of separating the babies & kids and putting t hem in jail and not tracking them so parents can't even find them when they are leaving the country and the babies are lost having who knows what happen to them. It's so hypocritical and disgusting, it just makes me sick.

(15,041 posts)I guess my question here is: When our political opponents, (enemies?), are ignoring the basic laws/rules/norms of our society, as well as basic human decency, what do we do about it?
As of now, the answer is elusive. And perhaps even dangerous.
