I watched every episode of The Sopranos and even Tony had a non criminal friend, kind of, in Dr. Cusimano.

One of the crooks recommends someone else, just like in the movies.
Family history is a consideration; Trump and Manafort family were involved in mob stuff, introduced the sons to it.
