Road rage triggered quadruple Westminster shooting that killed boy.

Another gun nut destroys a family.

A 23-year-old man faces allegations of first-degree murder in a road rage incident in which he allegedly shot four people. Those shots killed a boy, critically injured his mother and brother, and wounded a bystander in a Westminster shopping center parking lot.

Jeremy Webster of Colorado Springs was officially booked into the Adams County Jail at 1:39 a.m., more than 10 hours after the shooting, said Cheri Spottke, Westminster police spokeswoman.

Westminster detectives interviewed the man for several hours after he was arrested without incident on Interstate 25 in Castle Rock. Through those interviews police determined he did not have a relationship with any of the people who were shot.

According to a search warrant for Webster’s car that was obtained by Denver7, one of the woman’s three sons told police his mother and Webster had some sort of altercation near the intersection of Sheridan Boulevard and Turnpike Drive.

The warrant says Webster then followed the 41-year-old woman and her children to the office complex at 5150 80th Avenue and parked behind them. The woman’s 12-year-old son told police that his mother took a photo of Webster’s license plate before she got out of the car.

Witnesses said Webster and the woman argued as she and her children got out of the car. Webster then allegedly shot the woman multiple times, according to the warrant. He then turned and allegedly shot at two of the woman’s sons. The 12-year-old was able to run away, but the 13-year-old boy and 8-year-old boy were shot multiple times, according to the warrant. The 13-year-old boy died.

After shooting the woman and two of her children, Webster then allegedly made eye contact with a man in a pickup truck and fired multiple shots, hitting the man in both arms, the warrant says. The man was able to drive out of the parking lot and his 12-year-old daughter was not injured.

Webster has been arrested for investigation of first-degree murder, first-degree murder extreme indifference and three counts of first-degree assault, according to Colorado Bureau of Investigation records. Webster does not have a criminal record in Colorado.
