black family told to shower before using pool at Westin, Pasadena

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2018/06/15/a-black-woman-was-at-the-pool-on-vacation-then-a-man-insisted-she-shower-before-swimming/?utm_term=.1d93b92e59eb

A black woman was at the pool on vacation. A white man asked whether she showered before swimming.

The man, who is white, asked Wheeler and her daughter, who are black, if they had showered before getting into the pool, Wheeler wrote on her Facebook page, “because people carry diseases into the pools and he doesn’t want the health department to shut the pool down.”

The two moved to the other end of the pool, but he approached again and she confronted him on what appeared to be “blatant racism,” she said. He claimed he worked for the health department when she asked, Wheeler said in an interview with The Washington Post.

“I let him know that being black is not a disease and showering would not wash the BLACK off our skin,” Wheeler, 33, a software engineer and single mother from Dallas, wrote on her Facebook page. “I think it’s awful that ANY man would think it’s okay to essentially ask a woman and a little girl if we took off our clothes and scrubbed our naked bodies before getting into a hotel swimming pool.”

Never, ever, have I been asked if I showered before getting into a swimming pool. Not when I was a kid, not when I was in college taking my SCUBA certification course, never when I lived in AZ, never when I lived in TX, never when I lived in CA, or OH, or KY, or MO. Never. Not once.

Do I have to mention that I am white?

If I weren't so damn old and didn't have a spouse with limited mobility and 5 dogs, I swear I would get the hell out of this country that has decided to bow down to a wanna-be dictator who admires Hitler, Kim Jong Un, and all the other worst dictators, who wants to destroy the United States and turn us into another Nazi Germany.

I don't know if I will die of old age, starvation (when the cut off my Social Security), or of some totally health condition that I can't get treated (after they cut off my Medicare).

Or whether I will die in prison for daring to criticize our Dear Leader!

Its always clearly posted to shower before entering the pool or spa. Not for primarily disease reasons, to my knowledge. To check perfumes, body washes, hair products, or a days gunk that might effect the pool filters or systems.

To be truthful, though we often reminded people, few obeyed the regs. A few got offended but it was never meant personally.

Make no mistake, this guys a tool

One public Cook County Forest Preserve pool had a bar you had to straddle naked and walk over about 5 feet with gentle jets pointing up to your undercarriage. I’m sure that was very much for diseases like E. coli.

There was no getting around it. There were locker room monitors enforcing the rules. The last thing we wanted to do as ten year olds was parade naked over a chrome bar. But there was no choice.

Yeah, I can understand that, but apparently this was a pool at a hotel. I'm 66 years old and, and I have stayed in a lot of motels and hotels with pools and I have never in those 66 years been told or asked to shower before I use that pool. This guy's head belongs in a porcelain pool that flushes.

People pee in pools all the time, and it's not only kids. Actually, he already knows this. He was being a racist POS.
