She was appointed as deputy town clerk 21 years ago as a single mom with a 2 year old.. After 6 months she was told to change her party or loose her job.. She changed her party.. This past November she ran on the Republican ticket to ensure her 25 years of retirement. I told her that if she ran on that line in 4 years I would leave... One of the keys here is if you listened to our town board meetings on a beautiful lake in upstate NY you would think they are all Dems... Crazy..

mild than most hard right wing Republicans.

But, we still have our fair share of the crazies, i.e. Michael Grimm, Peter King, Carl Paladino, Rudy and the Dotard himself.

Hi to all you DUers from a Canadian who supports this site and everyone who finds encouragement and hope here. I lived in the US for 2 1/2 years during my doctorate and was increasingly glad to be Canadian ... I have a lot of American friends and many wish they could escape IQ45. I hope you all know that we support YOU the people and not the Orange Menace in the White House. I wish we could take you all in ... we have a big house, but perhaps not big enough for everyone. Besides, someone has to stay and fight—and make sure Trump/Pence are one/hit wonders—and preferably never even get that far! I was in Vermont this weekend and saw only one other Canadian license plate. That’s unusual.

Both my wife and I had ancestors that fought for American independence.

We both had ancestors fight in the War of 1812.

Giving me chill bumps we both had Ancestors fight with Jackson against the Creek Indians. Chill bumps for 2 reasons; that our ancestors fought for such a shitty cause and they probably knew each other.

Both our ancestors fought in the civil war. By then her family had moved to Indiana so fought for the right. Mine, not so much. But again, we both had ancestors at Shiloh.

I do not have an ounce of the courage my ancestors had to go through what they suffered, but we will be damned if we would consider moving now when we are needed to fight for the soul of our nation.

We have faced much longer odds and won thru.

After we make this nation a proper member of the western democracies them maybe I will consider home in France. But we will not run from this fight!

there will be no country on this planet that will be immune from it.

Canada and Mexico will feel it first and the worst.

Let us pray that this resolves peacefully.
