Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsHow long till some, (I said some) republicans take a strong stand against Trump?
1. Collusion with Russia during election
2. Taking children from parents
3. Admiring dictators like Kim, arguing with friends like Trudeau
4. Horrible reaction to Puerto Rico disaster
5. Total attitude of "uncaring" about anyone but himself...
6. Acting like a dictator on many occasions...
Will any of them, either republican leadership or just members of Congress call him out for what he is and has done? ...totally and completely? Or, are they all just plain chickensh*t"
I believe that soon, very soon a one or two will take a strong stand against Trump..
... Maybe it will be those not running for re-election. Or maybe someone who has nothing to lose. Maybe Flake or McCain I don't know. But someone of them, ?? will take a stand against him. Taking children from parents is awful beyond words....

(53,410 posts)As soon as Mueller starts indicting Republicans in office. Or ex-Republicans who retire come November.
As long as they can get away with it none will stop kissing his ass.
Its also a Felony to aid and abet after the fact.

(2,187 posts)They'd all.lose.their jobs (aka Mark Sandford) if they speak out against Spanky. All GOP'ers are terrified of him attacking them on Twitter. The only ones who.do bother to speak out are the ones who are retiring.. History will judge them harshly, but I'd sure love to see all those complicit pricks in front of judges right now!

(34,661 posts)Until Murdoch Media decides they have gone to far, then and only then will someone step up. Jeff Flake, wow, that Guy is a true spineless POS. Everything he says or does is to promote himself in the future.

(38,448 posts)If that is true, then that goes beyond anything we can imagine. There are a number of areas of grave concern..Certainly a few will stand up to what is a, "clear and present danger" Won't they?

(54,770 posts)them in polls. Otherwise, maybe some will after the November election when trump can't hurt them for 2 more years. But it they haven't done it by now, I'm not counting on it.
Heck, even with all that is going on, trump still has an approval rate of 42% (538). Bet some who disapprove, do so because he's not shooting immigrants at the border, bombing Iran and NK, abolishing Social Security, and perhaps worse.

(33,034 posts)The media would be there in minutes. If McCain denounced detention camps, it would be national news. He & his ppl know this. He won't.
Stuart, I cannot think of any republican with less to lose then McCain, and he is silent about this.
Grievous wrong is wrong.

(48,955 posts)If enough hits for Trump's Trade Wars land hard in a couple of states - such that Trump no longer can whip up his base to 'punish' insubordinate members of Congress - and a few will start taking more stands.
