Texas deputy sexually abused undocumented immigrant girl, 4, sheriff says

An off-duty Bexar County Sheriff's Department deputy has been arrested on a felony charge involving sexual assault of a child, reports CBS San Antonio affiliate KENS-TV. Jose Nunez, 47, is a detention deputy who's been with the department ten years.

Sheriff Javier Salazar says the victim's mother is an undocumented immigrant, and the suspect took advantage of the mother's fear of deportation.

20. Oh, no. Say it isn't true. I was afraid of children not being under the watchful eyes of parents.

I'm concerned about kids being kept in kennels with other, older kids, too. There are bullies in every group of people. There's a big difference between 13 and 17, if they're keeping kids of those ages together without supervision of adults.

I'm concerned about both boys & girls, esp. the really little ones. The toddlers, who don't understand why mommy or daddy isn't there, with no one who loves them to watch out for them, comfort them.

I hope the ACLU and other organizations who are working to free this children are able to make fast progress. I would hate to see little kids in tent cities, in the scorching heat, without their loved ones to see after their welfare.

What sort of people would think this is okay? I imagine them sitting in their suits around a table, when Sessions comes up with this idea, and they all think it's a great idea. The horror. This is who is running the country.
