Jake Tapper @jaketapperThe UN High Commissioner for Human Rights expressed deep concern over recent policies adopted by the United States that led to the forceful separation of children from their families..that any State would seek to deter parents by inflicting abuse on children was unconscionable.

There's also his associations with dictators which is likely spurring it on - orders from his oligarch benefactors, no doubt.

They want international chaos. They don't remember what happened with the League of Nations. When the US refused to join, it became internationally weak, which was a contributing factor to returning to war in WWII. There are some historians who don't separate WWI & II, and just refer to them as a continuous war, with a 20 year hiatus, because many of the same factors contributed to both. The LoN was a stab at ameliorating some of the problems of the age, but if failed, largely because the US rejected it.
The UN may have failed in a lot of ways, but at least there has not been a major war since its inception.

That and the gross human rights violations against children that Trump and the GOP are committing on our southern border of course.
