Acting ICE Director: In Cases of Migrant Families Being Separated, Youd Have to Put the Blame on the Parentsby Joe DePaolo | 9:40 pm, June 18th, 2018
Amid a national outcry over Trump administration policy resulting in the separation of migrant families at the U.S. Southern border, acting ICE Director Thomas Homan argued that the parents are at fault.
As far as separation of families are concerned, you have to put the blame on the parents, Homan said Monday on Tucker Carlson Tonight. They are choosing to enter between the ports of entry, they know they will be separated, but they want to blame the government when we are forced to do that. So lets put the blame where it lies. Not on the fine men and women of ICE. Were enforcing the law.
Earlier in the segment, Homan blasted politicians claiming migrant children who have been separated from their families are being used as pawns. The acting ICE chief went on to make the head-scratching assertion that it is the parents who are using their own children as pawns.
These parents themselves are using these children as pawns to gain entry into the United States knowing that we cant detain them, Homan said.

(11,203 posts)1. Even if true, then why are you punishing the innocent children??
And of course the statement neglects that the only criminal act many of these parents have committed is entering the country "illegally" to seek asylum (which is pretty much how one seeks asylum) and if you really were fleeing your country for asylum, you would be a monster to leave your country without taking your children.

Yeah, that excuse won't go far in The Hague
