Last year, Core Civic made about $180 million dollars, and paid out 90% of that as dividends to its investors. The company is classified by the IRS as a Real Estate Investment Trust, which means it doesn't pay federal income tax on most of its earnings, nor do its investors. 2/12

It reduces their personal tax burden to a point that it's essentially meaningless, imperceptible.

...a young man was on Democracy Now, a whistle blower as to conditions ..he was asked to keep siblings from hugging...he refused and quit. He articulated conditions at detention center he worked at..he also talked about the exhoborant salaries paid to CEOs and said follow to the money. As expected Democracy Now delves further into issues provides a full perspective from professionals, activists, leaders in our community and gives a voice to ordinary people; always informative--here is an excerpt of Amy Goodwin's introduction.

Meet the Migrant Child Detention Center Whistleblower Speaking Out Against Family Separations STORYJUNE 18, 2018]

A youth care worker who quit his job at a Tucson detention center for unaccompanied minors is speaking out about inadequate facilities, untrained staff and inhumane policies, after witnessing the devastation of family separations firsthand. Antar Davidson says he quit after he was forced to tell children who were separated from their mother not to hug one another.

The facility is run by Southwest Key, a nonprofit that operates 27 facilities and has signed a lease to detain hundreds of separated children, including many who are a younger than 12 years old, in a “baby jail” in a former warehouse and homeless shelter in Houston. I have a very disturbing theory about how this is going to play out - The parents of the cutest, most adorable children won't be able to be located and these kids will end up in a for-profit adoption program (and you bet that Spanky will manage to profit from that).

Here's just one small example:

For more than three decades, CoreCivic has been an innovative, dependable partner for government. We bring the scale, experience and professionalism needed to solve tough government challenges in ways that are cost-effective and better the public good.

We understand that the needs of government are unique. Therefore our solutions have to be flexible and innovative. Whether a government partner is facing overcrowding, outdated facilities, or skyrocketing recidivism rates, CoreCivic has a solution to meet those needs.

It goes on and on: [link:http://www.corecivic.com/|

Interesting ps: Thurgood Marshall, Jr serves on Core Civics Board of Directors -- go figure.,

>"CoreCivic, Inc., formerly known as Corrections Corporation of America or CCA, is the largest private prison corporation in the US. In 2016, CoreCivic owned 76 facilities, including 49 correctional or detention facilities and 25 residential reentry facilities within 20 states. Additionally, CoreCivic managed 11 correctional and detention facilities owned by government agencies. CoreCivic estimated that, as of December 2016, it owned 58 percent of all prison beds, managed 41 percent of all private prison beds, and is the second largest community corrections service provider within the US."<

>"Immigration Detention Centers
The federal government operates only ten percent of all detention centers. The remaining 90 percent are contracted out to corporations like CoreCivic. In 2016, the single largest source of revenue for CoreCivic came from ICE, accounting for 28 percent of total revenue. This is up from 2014, when ICE contracts accounted for only half, or 14 percent of the company’s revenues. CoreCivic owns and manages 9 detention facilities for ICE. In 2016, CoreCivic announced two new contracts with ICE to operate detention centers.

CoreCivic’s immigration detention centers faced public scrutiny for human rights abuse, including medical neglect, sexual and physical assault against detainees, and understaffing and overcrowding. In 2017, a federal audit revealed that a CoreCivic-owned immigration detention center in Kansas lacked oversight and was severely understaffed. The audit concluded that this was also a problem at other CoreCivic-owned facilities."<

That's just two of the sites I picked randomly.
I'd be willing to bet that if you could dig down into the investment trusts for individual names of stock holders, you would find the names of many in the capitalist cabal that have taken over our country.
