It only took 20 years for one station with Fascist Propaganda to get a Fascist elected
(unless you count Darth Cheney). Fox News was launched in October of 1996.
Think about how seductive, powerful, and addictive fascist propaganda must be to create that kind of constituency in only five presidential terms. There are millions of Americans who will only believe something if it comes out of Fox. Progressive policies are so great - built on science, empathy, and hope, instead of fear. Why can't we get equally enthusiastic media representation for effective government and policies that make all of our lives better? It seems that benefiting everyone is a strategy for being loathed or ignored by the media and most of the populace. Just venting. I still can't believe it only took one station 20 years to bring their horrible agenda to power.

1. Great point
This is fascism taking root in America, and it's most obvious sign is not the man in the White House, it's the fact that so many Americans now hate each other.

4. Whatever one does in the US about half, maybe more of the country hates you. Tolerance
and acceptance in America is decreasing all the time. And the root of it? The 7x24 newscasts and others promoting endless irrational hatred and mindless believers.

12. Trump loves this
Like other wannabe despots, Trump loves to sow chaos and conflict in his people. It’s how they consolidate power. This is going to get much much worse, Trump wants it and the worse it gets the better it will be for him.
He wants blood in the streets, and we’ve already had it on small scales, he will be happiest when he drives groups of Americans to slaughter each other in large numbers. |

2. And Rupert Murdoch just keeps rolling along making big bucks off his hate channel. There is
something wrong in a country that allows one individual to direct its future via a news channel promoting ignorance, deception and distortions. Reminds one of Joseph Goebbels, WWII Germany.

5. the thing is though
that the direction they are pushing us in is one that the rich and powerful want - slave labor, a scared/divided populous with no organized labor power, racial scapegoats, etc.

3. Defund education! That's the trick!
Thanks, Nixon, Ronny Rayguns, Bush I, Shrub.............
but they WANT to keep you stupid; it makes you easier to control and scare. I've seen it. I grew up during the space race at Cape Canaveral, and watched Kennedy Space Center being built. My school? Man, you'd BETTER know how to read, write a hand that someone else could read - and you had BETTER know your math and science............ It was a catholic school. ![]() |

7. Right. So who is Rupert Murdoch?
He's hooked into organized crime, hooked into our far right wing old hands South East Asian intel. Always loved the most far right extreme repugs. That creep Gingrich sat on a park bench and took a payoff from Murdoch, as soon as he won the Speaker of the House position.

9. It might not have worked if the rest of the useless press hadn't been so willing
to legitimize and even imitate said fascist station. Even NPR, the so called "liberal network" still employs fascist network hacks trying to moonlight as journalists.

16. I remember how vomit inducing MSNBC was during the runup to the Iraq
clusterfuck. CNN was pretty awful too. That's when I decided that watching, I should say hate watching, that shot was not worth it.
Now I just get all my information from Infowars!!! ![]() ![]() |

10. Fox is the evil spawn of hate radio so the propaganda has been spewed for 40+ years.
Hate radio started in the 80s & is still going strong. The Jones/Moore race shouldn't even been close. That's what 4+ decades of hate radio does to a country. Huge segments of Americans believe that the democrats are more evil than Satan, & the dems & left don't seem to see that as a problem. They must not cuz the haven't done a thing about it all this time.

13. One could make the argument Rush Limbaugh....
blazed the trail when they repealed the Fairness Doctrine a decade earlier. Hell, Fox should compensate Limbaugh for delivering a huge 'locked and loaded' ready made audience of pocket change jiggling old farts to Fox,.
