Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski is facing backlash after he mocked the story of an immigrant child with Down syndrome in a Fox News interview about the Trump administration's "zero-tolerance" immigration policy.

Lewandowski, who was in charge of Donald Trump's presidential campaign from January 2015 to June 2016, made the disparaging comment on "The Story With Martha MacCallum" Tuesday evening. Fellow guest Zac Petkanas, a Democratic strategist and former Hillary Clinton aide, relayed a story about a 10-year-old girl with Down syndrome who was separated from her mother after they crossed the border illegally.

"I read today about a 10-year-old girl with Down syndrome who was taken from her mother and put in a cage," Petkanas began. But before he could finish, Lewandowski replied "Womp, womp" in apparent sarcasm.

Corey Lewandowski's Life In Two Words: Womp Womp

Corey Lewandowski might be Donald Trump's most immoral campaign manager. And that club includes Paul Manafort and Steve Bannon.

in a few years.

Mahalo, Rhiannon, I find it easier to take egregious idiocy from trump morons through someone like Stephen.

I liked that Democratic strategist, Zac Petkanas

And I had no idea what that "womp" thing was about, but I thought he did a good job explaining it - the whole background, and of course the obit!

I agree that Zac Petkanas dod a good job appearing along the morans! And that is a very clever Tweet, too! I really don't know what we'd do without a little humor, these days. What is happening is just so surreal!

for all who get real news and not through manufactured media filters.

So anything that helps ease the stark reality.. like Stephen Colbert's perspective as you say.

And of course having DU helps - I've recommended it to a few people just lately.

So I watch as much of the news as I can take, especially Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell - and then I turn on the late night comedians to help me deal with it...
