"She's very smart. How smart is that? How smart is she? How smart. How smart."
During President Donald Trump’s rambling speech in South Carolina, he praised the first lady for being smart enough to praise him, even if he isn’t sure that she meant the compliment.
The comment came as part of a rant about NBC host Jimmy Fallon and the network in general. He said that NBC might be worse than CNN because they didn’t treat him well after the ratings he scored for them. Then he railed against Arnold Schwarzenegger, saying he “bombed in two shows.”
“And the one who knew was my wife. She said you know –” he paused as the audience applauded Melania. “She’s very smart. She said, ‘You know there’s nobody that can take your place, don’t you?’ I said, ‘Thank you, darling.’ How smart is that? I don’t know if she believes it, but she said, ‘There’s nothing that can take your place. He will not be successful. There’s nobody, darling, that can take your place?’ How smart is she? How smart. How smart.”
