They're banking that Dems will try and stall giving them something to whip up conservative and conservative leaning independents to vote GOP.

Nothing brings the fundies out like Roe and Supreme Court picks. It's a smart play to blunt Dem enthusiasm/turnout in the fall with heavy GOP turnout motivated by the idea of Dear Leader getting another justice.

My guess is Mitch would LOVE to see Dems try to stall this and stretch it into late November.

But this fall hmmm the dems can post pone and or make deals with fellow senators there will be no vote arleast until next year. There is going to be more data out there more news that is going to be anti Trump and right now Trump is just above water in that area. Maybe McConnell knows whats coming out and is just going to delay and try and remain in with the senate when evidence comes down that Trump is a crook.

When he can use it to his advantage in trying to hold onto the senate in the fall. In the end, he'll probably get the Senate and the nominee.

Expect turnout for a midterm that will eclipse anything we've seen before, or even contemplated. On both sides. But it is a chance to prove there are more of us than there are of them.

This could fire up our base as well. Every single Latino, women's, LGBTQ, and civil rights organization will have a personal stake in these elections.

We need to get those fantastic young ad persons that work with the Democratic Socialists and get on the air with the message of what's at stake.

There's more of us than them. We have to show up.

There maybe more of us than them but they are far more likely to get out and vote. I've watched an 80 year old woman stand in line, in the pouring rain, to cast her ballot but I couldn't get my apathetic millennial nephew to fill out his friggin' ballot.

The fire in your belly doesn't mean crap unless it ignites the kindling under your ass.

In 2016, my daughter didn't get it. She didn't understand why I made such a fuss about her registering to vote and voting for the first time. That didn't matter. I dragged her to the polls and we cast our ballots for a straight Democratic ticket.

There's that old joke that goes something like, "I'm glad I was drugged as a child. I was drug to church. I was drug to the doctor. I was drug to school..." Some of these lazy (but anti-Trump) millennials might have to be "drugged" to the polls. We can gripe about it, but the fact is, we need their votes.

Now... NOW my daughter gets it. Now she's horrified at what's going on in this country. My hope is that these apathetic individuals will eventually be energized by the youth movement that is growing within our party. But until then, if they need an old fashioned push to the polls, so be it.
