It's not about f***ing "political differences."

It's one thing to agree on facts but differ about how to respond to said facts, or about the causes. It's one thing to differ over the role of government. It's one thing to differ over tax rates. And so on.

But constantly lying, misleading and obfuscating is another thing.

Denying facts and inventing "alternative facts" is another thing.

Fomenting and exploiting racism, sexism, misogyny and xenophobia is another thing.

Separating families, and caging asylum-seekers (including children) is another thing.

Bragging openly about sexual assault and defending serial assaulters is another thing.

Suggesting that your supporters find a "2nd amendment solution" for your political opponent is another thing.

Refusing to show your tax returns, stiffing contractors and operating a phony "University" is another thing.

Violating the emoluments clause (that alone would have had Obama impeached) is another thing.

Race-based voter suppression and gerrymandering is another thing.

Obstructing justice is another thing.

Blatant hypocrisy about SCOTUS nominees - and everything else under the sun - is another thing.

Colluding with a foreign adversary is another thing.

Befriending vicious dictators and alienating vital allies is another thing.

There's nothing "uncivil" about protesting any and all of that. There's nothing uncivil about protesting those who are committing crimes against an entire nation, or aiding and abetting said criminals. On the contrary, it would be indecent to not do so.

So, anyone who is concerned about supposed acts of incivility toward SHS or Stephen Miller or Nielsen or McConnell or any of the Trumps, just fuck off. Those inhumane criminals are actively destroying lives and any semblance of democracy that remained. I don't give a shit if they can't eat dinner in peace or if they get shouted at. They should be in prison.

Political differences?!? Are you fucking kidding me?!?

Well, it includes political differences. But the thing with Trump and Trumpers is not a political difference.

our media and our public are prone to normalize much of this behavior. I see it happening every day in bits and pieces, although Faux News and right-wing talk radio does it 24/7.

How the hell is the public supposed to know the truth with this constant barrage of lies and deception?.......

...a daily press conference to address the lies of the previous 24 hours. A smart, charismatic person who, with a combination of seriousness and humor, can draw attention every evening at 8 pm EST. We need to take extraordinary steps to address this Orwellian Republican Party.

The level of lies and Gish Galloping is off the charts, and countering their bullshit is a full-time job...or it would be if the DNC hires someone to take on that role.

There are millions of lives at stake.

11. That's a good idea and I think it should be expanded to other media.

I do agree we need an agency to coordinate this effort, and to me it should focus on GOP lies - and particularly tRump's lies. Most people revolt when they learn they've been lied to.

I had thought of just simple 15 or 30-second TV spots pointing out a lie and then telling the actual truth. Focus should be on the most obnoxious and harmful lies.

Although I don't use social media, as I understand it, ads can be placed on that media as well (the Russians did that quite well in 2016/17 and are still doing it). Mad Dog PAC's billboards are doing a good job and we can support that effort. Magazine and newspaper ads might reach some audiences as well.

Would be nice if we had a central clearing house and execution agency that we could all pony up and support......

5. GD YES! The Red Hen owner is right. Stop defending decorum and do something about Donald Trump.

As Donald Trump lies and his anti-immigrant smears turn into child abuse, you can act like it's normal or, like the owner of the Red Hen, you can do something about it.

snip//

This near perfect example of misguided rage from the president’s backers has not stopped the civility police from leaping to the defense of our precious decorum. Nor has another pointed Trump attack on a private business, or his near daily Twitter missiles aimed at due process, the rule of law and special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation

snip//

The problem is these critics are doing exactly what Trump’s fans did. They're attacking those with no power for trying to make their voices heard amid the shrill screams of the biggest demagogue ever to sit in the Oval Office. They're aiming their rhetorical eggs in the wrong direction.

snip//

The fear of giving Trump exactly what he wants and thus empowering him into even greater horrors is often used as a cudgel. Critics use it to bash almost anyone who makes the brave decision to risk rebuke from the most powerful man in the world — a man who wields that power the way a 2-year-old wields a rattle — and his rabid fans.

These lecturers imagine that a measured, monotone Jeb Bush-like response to the Trump administration will make this all stop somehow.

Seems a big no-no.

But.

I live in the reddest state and I'm telling you that I am surrounded by Nazis. There's no better term to describe it.
