I made a Facebook post about the kidnapping and torture of these children. I received a responding post, schoolmarming me about my emotional response, and stating confidently that the issue wasn't "black and white" as some would have it (quote marks in the original response). Sadly, the responder (who I don't know) didn't quite get to the fine nuances and shades of gray that he asserted were abundant in this situation.

This seems to be the next step in the gaslighting: Pretending that this crime against humanity isn't all that serious or bad. The precise explanation of which hasn't been formulated yet.
