Trump's pick for top UN migration job voted down in Geneva (wanted to build a wall in the Alps)

(CNN)The UN migration agency on Friday voted down Ken Isaacs, the Trump administration's candidate to lead the International Organization for Migration, a US official told CNN, leaving it without an American at the helm since 1951.

Isaacs once wrote on Twitter that Austria and Switzerland should consider building a wall in the Alps to keep refugees out.

3. The idea of a wall in the Alps is so ridiculous, we need to invent a new word beyond "idiotic".

A wall.

Built in steep, icy mountains.

Where also regular people happen to live and which are a prime tourist spot for skiing in Winter and hiking in Summer.

A wall that ignores that the Alps actually range from France to Slovenia.

A wall that wouldn't help either because those refugees aren't coming across the Alps. They come around the Alps.
