HRC would have been one of our greatest Presidents; instead we have ended up with the absolute worst so-called President ever!

(31,989 posts)And I try not to think too much about how we could have had a much more competent, compassionate, law abiding, and visionary woman for President .... instead of the disgusting train wreck we have now. It was stolen from her. I just get too depressed thinking about it.

(47,419 posts)that a lot of Democrats bought into it as well. The right absolutely hated her husband, but he had enough charisma to ward off their assaults. Being an intelligent woman, Hillary was a much easier target, but it did take decades of persistent attacks based on nothing.

(22,035 posts)Only one of two things can be true:
1) Hillary Clinton is guilty of every offense that the vast Right-wing conspiracy has accused her of but she is so smart and manipulative that she has evaded every effort they've made to bring her to account. (If she's that savvy, maybe she should be president!)
OR
2) She's not guilty of everything they've thrown at her.
What does the evidence actually show?
(Hint: No. 2)

Their fear of her winning changed American democracy, broke Congress, brought down the entire Department of Justice, and drove Republicans to consort with misogyny, racism, betrayal and treason.
It wasn't her loss - it was our loss.

(3,406 posts)Twenty five years ago, Reagan led the charge to de-regulate the public airwaves. The subsequent concentration of media ownership coupled with the vile of right wing shock jocks paved the way for our current crisis.
We MUST unravel the media monipolies and re-regulte campaign finance.

(22,794 posts)The right wing has done their dirty work exceedingly well.
We can expect it from the rightwing because this is what they did for decades. But you could still read the same rightwing propaganda and conspiracy theories here on DU just to push another candidate.
