McCarthy had a range of bad behavior which together and in context were extremely harmful. Suggesting Greenwald takes Russian money, making a baseless charge, is only one part of what McCarthy did and by itself is not particularly harmful. Greenwald is well positioned to defend himself, unlike many of McCarthy’s victims. So I disagree with that comparison.

We should be careful to avoid the sins of our opponents though even if not fully as bad.

He is also notorious on contradicting himself when he is proven wrong.

He has time and time again gone out of his way saying there is no "evidence" that there was Russian interference.

He is an arrogant, pompous, piss ant, who will do anything to get attention, ignoring his own contradictions and assessments from the past.

In fact I don't recall Greenwald ever admiting to being wrong about anything

While we all have our bias, Greenwald is not and has never been an objective reporter, and is notorous for using people for his own personal gain. Snowden and Winner are two examples of sources he left them out in the cold. Any journalist who doesn't protect his sources is no journalist in my view
