*I think they are more dangerous to our democracy than the openly crazy trumpsters because they fly under our radar.
Interesting article in Atlantic Magazine...
"We know about the presidents most vocal supporters. But what about his more discreet following?
These are not the mass of his supporters who fear the loss of jobs to global trade or automation; they are not the rural white Americans who feel threatened by immigration, ravaged by the opioid epidemic, and treated contemptuously by a bicoastal elite. In fact, by background, income, and employment, they are actually members of that elite.
Most of them are partly closeted Trumpverstehers. That is, they are judicious about to whom and how they divulge their views. But they have said enough to me that I can reconstruct their arguments for being more hostile to President Donald Trumps critics than to him; for being unwilling to criticize him more than faintly, if at all; and in some cases, for taking an unabashedly positive view of some of his accomplishments."

(67,107 posts)Nazi Germany with a partnership with Russia. I really think a number of very powerful people in the US want a dictatorship so they can rule the country with free will. IMO there is an awful lot going on and we only see the tip of the iceberg. The US might become a place to flee from in coming years. We'll know better after the coming elections, if one can even trust the election system in many places.

(67,107 posts)seen throughout history how this works. They must be truly illiterate when it comes to history, collapsing societies, and how dictatorial regimes work. And in many cases their wealth, whatever, will evaporate. Damn, we live in ignorant times in the US, the land of Idiocracy.

He is a sympathizer, don't think he will admit to himself or anyone else though cuz I think he also realizes that the Pig could go too far.
