How's that working out for ya?

(8,217 posts)I am still also wondering about when he actually left Bain, as that retroactive thing, especially when he's still signing just doesn't work for me.
Any progress in that front? Was thinking that if he released the taxes up to 10 years or more, then we'll have an idea if he was still taking payments from Bain.

(35,075 posts)but luckily there's a new tough ad out. We have to remember to emphasize that we need the returns to find out the truth about Bain, etc.

(36,392 posts)if Obama beats this douche bag while the Repukes control the House, Senate, SCOTUS, and media, the only progress over the next 4 years will be more appeasement, up until the time he's impeached.
Where are the ads talking about the 30 million Americans who will lose their health insurance if ACA is overturned? Where are the ads featuring the drooling Bachmann calling for murder of Muslims? Where are the ads showing the costs of the 39 failed "repeal" votes? Where are the ads featuring car thief Issa proposing renaming the Pacific Ocean? You could have dozens of ads with just the corruption of Slappy and Fat Tony.
... have a legitimate gripe.
While I enjoy the OP poking fun at the concern trolls - who are now seemingly convinced that this is a trick to make us look bad when Romney posts his taxes showing nothing is wrong ignoring the fact that this will show him as weak as he caves to the Democrats before even getting elected - it does bother me how much emphasis we put on the presidency.
One of the things I absolutely adored about Obama in 2008 was his taking the campaign to red states (excluding the Smokey Mt states) precisely because, even if he did not win there, in a lot of these regions everything they know about Democrats is what the Republics tell them. We may win the odd presidency, but will be a permanent minority in the House/Senate if we retreat to the urban enclaves.
Not to mention the rightist swing this country has taken while Democrats follow that strategy. What is the freaking point of winning an election if we are just going to implement Republican policy under the Democratic label?

You raise good points but I disagree on the "we may win the odd presidency" statement. The repugs are the ones who may win the odd presidency. And the more they (the mostly white, elderly party) ages out and the rest of the country's demographics change to an aggregate of minorities; African Americans, Latino Americans, Asian Americans, white americans (progressives and repugs) etc, the repugs will become a regional party unable to win a national election. And they know it and are desperate to get Rmoney in there to try to enact laws that will allow them to stay in power. It ain't gonna happen though. The numbers are in our favor for the senate and house as well. It may not happen this election cycle but it will happen.
I'm just hoping that Democratic Party quits the rope a dope and finally comes out swinging. left hook, right hook, uppercut, the repigs are down for the count, I'm hoping

1. concern troll 499 up, 80 down
In an argument (usually a political debate), a concern troll is someone who is on one side of the discussion, but pretends to be a supporter of the other side with "concerns". The idea behind this is that your opponents will take your arguments more seriously if they think you're an ally. Concern trolls who use fake identities are sometimes known as sockpuppets.
In the 2006 election, an aide to Congressman Charlie Bass (R-NH) was caught concern trolling the opposition on local blogs. While pretending to support Bass's opponent, Paul Hodes, the aide argued that Hodes couldn't win because Bass was an unbeatable candidate. Hodes won the election.

January 27, 2011 Urban Word of the Day
A person who posts on a blog thread, in the guise of "concern," to disrupt dialogue or undermine morale by pointing out that posters and/or the site may be getting themselves in trouble, usually with an authority or power. They point out problems that don't really exist. The intent is to derail, stifle, control, the dialogue. It is viewed as insincere and condescending.
A concern troll on a progressive blog might write, "I don't think it's wise to say things like that because you might get in trouble with the government." Or, "This controversy is making your side look disorganized."

(29 posts)It occurs to me that Romney not only angered his corporate targets... but probably stole from his friends as well. I bet he has a whole collection of angry 'partners' that might have been motivated to talk to Harry Reid.
