They said its totally ok as long as the right side wins
He said for him there are much bigger things at stake than anything related to Russia. As long as Trump is delivering victories on taxes, banking regulations and keeps the idiot base happy .. Trump is safe.
I could not believe what I was hearing.

(36,446 posts)As long as their side is in control they don't care about rules or tradition. But when they are on the bottom, they demand our side abide by the rules. And we do. It's time to throw some dirt in their eyes and kick 'em in the balls.

(155 posts)I went to university in France with an American guy who worshipped Reagan and detested the "Evil Empire" under the fairly reasonable Gorbachev. Now he sings Trump's praises for "making the world safer" by cosying up to the world class thugs Putin and Kim.
He was a Trumper before there was a Trump. There is no logical reasoning process going on here, its just gut reactions to their own insecurities. It is, and always has been, like talking to a brick wall.
And we all know how clever bricks are.

I used to think that the US was sheltered from that sort of person by Mexicos border with Guatemala (The Mexicans are also nationalists) and the Florida Straits. I am not only horrified to see that sort of thinking spread across the US, but also that the people who think that way are home-grown Americans. This aint the sort of patriotism I learned in primary school!
The Latins have a term for that sort of person: vendepatria.

They know the only way they can win is by cheating ar the polls so why would they object to Putin and Trump collaborating to help them?
