that what mueller found is what it seems like it is, and proves what it looks like it proves. The jury or judge really don't care about the timing or the drama: Obstruction is obstruction, regardless of when the proof came to light. I think this is more about anticipating the news cycle that would come as a shock during trial.

Leaking it to the press is not the same as swearing to testify under oath: He can hold that card until he actually is in the witness stand.
