From the article...
COLUMBUS, Ohio Michael O'Brien has cast his vote during election time at the same polling place for years.
snip..He called the 614 area code number where the text originated, but discovered it was disconnected.
Monday morning, O'Brien received a similar text message, this time from a 216 area code.
That number was also disconnected.
He then called the Franklin County Board of Elections.

(38,824 posts)O'Brien (the voter) is not committing fraud.
Calling something voter fraud that actually vote suppression feeds into the meme that we need voter ID to prevent voters from voting fraudulently.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
