at the risk of diving into the puddle, back in the day, we used to call it "male answer syndrome". earliest i ever saw that term was in a comic strip called "eyebeam".
"mansplaining" seems a better, modern term....

by anyone who doesn't or does not feel he or someone else shouldn't fall into the mansplainer category.
