Mrs. Trump, a former fashion model who prefers clean, modern lines, had chosen some furniture for the White House residence in the months before she joined her husband in Washington. Yet in her absence, President Trump whose tastes veer toward the gilded, triumphal style of Louis XIV replaced her choices with several pieces he liked better. One of two people familiar with the episode cited it as an example of Mr. Trumps tendency not to relent on even the smallest requests from his wife.

(18,837 posts)I deliberately refrained from the customary 4 paragraphs because, as many said in the Twitter responses, she's still a Birther, and it doesn't really matter to me if her life at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave is less than idyllic.
Haberman got a few "Why are you WRITING this crap" responses, and it's a question I'd like answered myself.
I didn't even bother to read it. I stumbled across the furniture thing via a tweet and thought it was amusing...and a further insight into Trump's belief that his opinion is the only one that matters...so I wanted to share it.
The only "question" I'd like answered regarding Melania is "When will she (and her husband) no longer reside in the White House?"

(15,682 posts)I saw, Melanie is the mistaken spelling by, I believe it was, her dear husband in a fairly recent tweet. Hence, spelling her name as "Melanie" isn't necessarily a mistake by the poster but is standard mocking.
