POV On Omarosa: She Is Not Trump's Mini-Me. More Likely, She Hated His Guts Since Day 1

POV On Omarosa: She Is Not Trump’s Mini-Me. More Likely, She Hated His Guts Since Day 1

snip//

The fact that she’s African American leads some to claim she’s a stereotypical “Black bitch” but, in my opinion, that simply reveals more about them, not her.

No — Trump didn’t create her and she’s no Trump mini-me. Omarosa has consistently used her skills, knowledge and talents in the same way to advance her career since she entered the public eye. One may dislike or reject the public persona she created and the path she chose to achieve her goals. But she is, across the board, her own woman.

Why I Think Omarosa Likely Hated Trump Since Day 1.

All of the above plus this: she has seen him behind the scenes and knows exactly what he’s capable of — which, after the pussy-grabbing tape, is clearly far worse than the horrors he reveals in public — and she’s fully aware of his power to dispose of her or destroy her at will. There is no way she ever truly “respected” such a man as a “mentor.” It’s far more likely she hated him, as I hated the boss I described above yet continued to work for him.

I have no doubt Trump used the N-word behind the scenes on The Apprentice, along with other vicious invective and sundry pussy-grabbing in word and/or deed. I have no doubt Omarosa was shocked and disgusted by him yet made a calculated decision to stay in his orbit for — yes — career opportunities.

Personally, I don’t consider her choice to do so different than many of the famous women who came forward in the #MeToo discussion and admitted they remained silent because their abusers had the power to advance (or destroy) their careers. I don’t recall any of those women being criticized as “opportunists.”

When Omarosa made the “bow down to Trump” remark on TV after he won the GOP nomination, my spidey-sense kicked in. It was over the top even for the renowned Reality TV Villain. My gut told me she knew her remark would win favor with Trump. She was right. Soon after, Omarosa was asked to join the Trump election campaign and had to sign an NDA.

When he won the presidency and created a top-paying position for Omarosa, she did two things I find significant:

She did not sign an NDA.

She entered the West Wing with her iPhone app on “record.”

It’s worth repeating: she entered the West Wing with her iPhone app on “record.”

Think about it — why would she make these recordings? Simply and solely to exploit an opportunity? I don’t think so. Opportunity was the cherry on top of a cake that Omarosa’s been baking a long time.

I think she made those recordings because Omarosa hates Trump’s guts, has always hated his guts, and she intended to come for him.

The fact that Trump didn’t see her coming is a testament to his misogynist, racist, rich white boy, ignorant blind spot. A blind spot I have no doubt Omarosa sized up the moment she met him.

Next time you see her interviewed on TV, pay attention to her eyes. They reveal it all.

I do not judge her. In fact, I applaud her. You go girl.

of the movie. 1950s movie style where evil must be shown to reap its inevitable punishment.

She's a beautiful and extremely talented woman. I've wondered if she might also be a clinical sociopath, or with strong traits of. Supposedly they're at least 1 in 30 of us, and that camp seems to draw them like flies to rotten meat.

and struggle for position among those sort of people. Her talents alone could have taken her anywhere, but she's made herself very unwelcome most places, lasting longest iwithout being fired n Trump's orbit.

As for speculating with that word, sociopathy is so common that we've all known or run across sociopaths, or just people with strong traits, through our lives. We're so used to, for instance, some charismatic person turning his or her group maliciously on some hapless victim, or someone else deviously setting out to get a coworker fired, that we see it as normal, and actually it is, but psychologists have a somewhat deeper understanding of what may be going on when troubles arise wherever a person goes.

And, of course, there are various other personality disorders that might be more accurate. That something is wrong that keeps her from thriving in place is obvious, though.

It's worth knowing something about (there are long rows of books on this) since they can cause a great deal of harm to people who don't see it coming and don't understand what's happening when it does. They like to manipulate others and the smarter, more talented ones tend to end up in fields that allow plenty of opportunity for that, including religion, counseling, politics, etc.

I have been trying to decide if I should read the memoir, and it is hard to see for myself whether the book is worthy of a read, given the range of opinions on Omarosa's motivations and personality. From what I can glean so far, she seems similar to others who seek status and wealth by any means necessary, no worse no better. But there are so few black voices in these circles that I think every chance at insight should be explored.

Thanks for responding.

I was extremely skeptical when Omarosa came out with her book, but during the many interviews, she was surprisingly calm and confident, less theatrical and conniving than I was anticipating. I actually found her believable, which I was not expecting. Then I did a flashback of all the times I'd seen her with Trump and I saw a different woman, a different story. She didn't get cast from the Trump world and then seek revenge by writing a book. She was planning this for a long time and she was very good at it too.

It feels a lot like a climatic moment in a novel, where the long suffering but calculating protagonist finally reveals who she is and what she knows. Though she still is a bit too Machiavellian for my taste, I have to say I find myself applauding her. This is a plot twist I did not see coming and neither did Trump.

Edit for grammar mistake.

I always thought her "bow down to Trump" comment was so over the top that it couldn't have been sincere. I wouldn't be surprised if she meant it as bait, because there's nothing Trump loves more than over the top adulation.

Omarosa is not a lovable person, but she's smart and cunning - much more so than Trump. Whether she intended from the beginning to take him down remains to be seen, but at some point she concluded that working for him would provide good book material - and it did.

The associated personality traits and uses is uncanny to say the least. Only watched maybe ten minutes of a Apprentice Program, and that was one with Omarosa. My spouse spotted the similarity within the first minute or so.

Having a family member who did some script writing and being associated with a member of the production staff ,there will be more interesting stories to come. Noticed the one Production Guy was all Coked Up doing a interview last week.

Self promotion has served Omarosa pretty well so far. And most of the public does not see her real goal.

She knew Trump could be a means to power for her, especially when he entered the White House, but that it was a dangerous prospect, so she started recording to protect herself. My take is that she doesn't have a moral compass and neither does he. That's what she admired about him. Machiavellian. They both want fame, money and power.

She saw him, decided she was the same way. She has a hard time explaining why she was like that before she was fired. Uses kind of tortured logic to explain. But, think she has to come up with some excuse why she blindly followed him for so long. Other than I am pissed because he fired me
