Trump is actually a genius. No, seriously.

I had tucked away a link to a nice article about Trumpism and I figured, I would gonna post it eventually on DU. And when I remembered "Oh, I wanted to post this" there had already been several new outrages and the debate had moved on.

Trump's genius is that he's a moving target.

By continuously changing the topic, you can never pin him down, you can never defeat him in a debate: Because he simply walks away from the debate when he has said his part.

"Truth isn't truth", or as Trump calls it "truthful hyperbole". That's the universe he operates in. There are no defined facts, nothing is set in stone, nothing is secure. It just goes on and on and on and on.

You should look into Hillary's collusion with Russia, except there was no collusion with Russia, it was China, no it was a 400-pound guy, no it was 12 year-old kid, it's a witchhunt, no it's rigged, no it's a rigged witchhunt, by 12 angry Democrats, no wait 17 angry Democrats, it was about abortion, no it was about dirt, but I knew nothing about it, and it was totally legal anyways, except when Hillary paid for the Steele-dossier, Kim Jong Un is a dangerous rocket-man, no he's a great guy, we should make peace with Russia, nobody has been tougher on Russia than me...

That's why the whole concept of fake news comes so naturally to him. Don't trust the media, don't trust your eyes and ears, trust me.

Trump is a boxer who moves like a butterfly. But Mueller is a wrestler.

The big danger of this investigation is that it would pin Trump down to one version of reality, to one set of facts.

There would be only one version of what happened with whom and when.

There would be only one version of what is going on in Trump's businesses.

There would be only one version of how rich Trump actually is.

There would be only one version of what relationship Trump does have with Russia.

Giuliani has realized this danger. That's why he ranted that truth isn't truth. Trump speaking to Mueller would automatically be a perjury-trap, because Trump does not believe in such a thing as "one truth" even existing. "Truth" is whatever it needs to be at a given moment.
How dare Mueller claim that his version of the truth is better than Trump's version?

Geniuses can make insightful generalizations across disparate fields and focus laser-like drilling down to the critical nub of topics.

tRump can manipulate news cycles, cleverly. He can flit from bankruptcy to bankruptcy, cleverly. A genius he is not.

6. Above all of Trump's skill at lying, he is a true sociopath without a conscience.

So, as his ghostwriter, Tony Schwartz said, lying is second nature to him.

12. Joseph Heller "Catch 22" NO CHARACTER
Sun Aug 19, 2018, 04:13 PM

“It was miraculous. It was almost no trick at all, he saw, to turn vice into virtue and slander into truth, impotence into abstinence, arrogance into humility, plunder into philanthropy, thievery into honor, blasphemy into wisdom, brutality into patriotism, and sadism into justice. Anybody could do it; it required no brains at all. It merely required no character.”
