Anyone who has known Trump for years, and doesnt have a stake in his political career or the GOP, says the same. He is unwell and has been getting progressively worse over the past 18 months.

@Peter_Wehner
Mr. Trump was emotionally/psychologically unwell when he became president. His condition is clearly worsening. He's becoming more volatile, erratic and unstable. At some point he's going to blow apart. When he does it'll create a crisis. This won't end well. Pray for our country.

(47,430 posts)narcissist, but if you look at videos from 20 or more years ago, he was calmer, more soft spoken, and relatively reasonable sounding. He really seemed like a different person. He came across as rather creepy and sleazy to me, but not erratic and out of control, at least not in public.
Clearly he is getting worse all the time and he is incapable of hiding it.

(4,218 posts)Hes not well mentally or physically. Im surprised KFC cooking grease doesnt come out of his pores. Maybe he fries when hes in that tanning bed. What if he stayed in there too long and became extra crispy. I wonder if he has a tanning bed butler who has to stay by his side to monitor his session. God that would be a terrible job.

And something of a freak, that can't obviously control his instincts when it comes to women...
Makes you kind of wonder about him, and what else he's hiding...

(889 posts)Even if the House impeached, the Senate would probably not convict. The 2/3 majority needed there is probably too high a bar.
Instead, the 25th Amendment should be considered.

(16,926 posts)Using that strategy would allow the chicken-shit pugs a way out of the mess they created by saying, "Gosh, old chum, you truly are the greatest, but you've got this "problem" and we're gonna' give you a "vacation" so that you can get well."
OK, I know that's BullShit, but it does show a way for the Pugs to get out from under this mess - and we would all benefit from their chicken-shit way of "Making America Great Again."

(21,568 posts)Drumpf can declare himself fit to serve with a letter to Congress. If the cabinet objects then congress votes to decide with 2/3 needed to remove the president. That is arguably MORE difficult then impeachment/ trial which requires only a House majority along with 2/3 Senate vote.

(5,810 posts)Prior to becoming President, he was accustomed to doing what he wanted, when he wanted. He could demand to have his way and it would happen. He ran things to suit him and dodged trouble by buying people off or picking on those unable to fight back. Few people bucked him because they knew what would happen.
Now he is President in a whole other universe with different rules and constraints. He was a bit caught off guard at first at the restrictions and legal issues. The demands of the job probably surprised him. He assumed (incorrectly) that most of the job could be foisted off on other saps. He could do the ceremonial stuff, do his beloved rallies and play like he is King. Oh, and play golf whenever he liked. But that has turned out to be not so true and then there is the Mueller probe. Getting on his last nerve.
He never counted on getting caught or exposed for his Russian connections. Now Mueller is closing in with multiple indictments to people connected to tRump. He feels the hot breath of justice breathing down his neck and it is driving him quite to the brink of sanity. His already existing mental health issues have gotten worse with the non-stop pressure. tRump really is mad in every sense of that word. I dont see any way out of this except for him to crack open like a melon and fall completely apart. If there is ANY justice in this world, it will happen in prime time, LIVE, on a widely televised event. It wouldnt surprise me if he melted into a gooey puddle just like the Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz with that pile of thatched straw on top.

(8,168 posts)And to take it a bit further, his seeming regression, while maybe in part age-related, is because he is a narcissist out of his comfort zone away from the world he has built in which he can function. Like a drowning swimmer, he is thrashing about trying to get back on firm footing. In totally over his head and in an unfamiliar environment, his normal coping skills are out the window and he's got nothing to fall back on. For this very reason, I have predicted a psychotic break since the day he was elected. I have to say, I thought it would come sooner. Assuming it hasn't already.
To use an example, and I am not implying with the example that he is seriously mentally ill, just that this is not an unheard of phenomenon... People who develop serious mental illness often begin to do so in their late teens. It begins and they live in the house they have lived in most of their lives, with their parents or parent who have always been there, they go to a school they are familiar with, have friends they know, etc. The symptoms start to arise and they can fit their coping with them into their already established routine, although they are using more of their resources to hold things together. The illness can be stressful, but the environment is not, because it is known and they are used to working within it, thus they can hide things a bit and function fairly well. Then they go to college. EVERYTHING is different. They don't know the environment, the coping skills they've developed over time for the illness are out the window. They have to learn a new environment (stressful in and of itself) AND they have to do it while compromised AND they have to cope with the symptoms, now becoming more evident because of the stress of the new environment. They run out of resources to deal with it all. So they have their first break freshman year of college.
Trump is an adult with a personality disorder. He's been able to set up a world for himself in which he can get what he needs and function fairly well, but functioning requires a significant percentage of his resources. He's become somewhat inflexible in how he gets his needs met, as do we all by the time we are his age. Suddenly he's thrown into Yikes! the mother of all environment changes. NOTHING he used to do works. His old coping skills don't work in this new life. He can't get what he needs to function reasonably well. He rapidly runs out of resources for dealing and he refuses to conserve resources by asking for help. So, the perceived regression. Back in NYC in Trump Tower he had things figured out, knew what was what and what to expect, how to work the environment. Now? He's a guy running on empty with no way to gas up.

(51,593 posts)I keep hoping every single morning that CNN will have Latest Breaking News that he stroked out or had a massive heart attack. I want him to live but completely incapacitated...to live a long enough be able to see Dems win, complete ALL investigations and obtain fair punishments for everyone who has been the slightest bit complicit since the 1980s. I want him to suffer total bankruptcy, humiliation and the entire world to point and laugh at his new title as the "Un-American Traitor". I want him to get the least money can buy in a prison hospital ward. I hope he lives a long, slow painful life in there with other rats and cockroaches. A quick and painless death is reserved for decent, caring people, NOT this sadistic bastard.

(2,807 posts)I have had the misfortune to know about Donald Trump since the early 1980's. Just through TV, magazines, and newspapers. It would have been for everybody if he were unknown to to the world, but it was not to be. I saw, I listened, I followed, in horror, is 2008, and 2012 campaigns. In particular his whole Birther epic which lasted for years where Donald not only accused Barack Obama of not being an American, but claimed to have sent his investigator to Hawaii, TRUMP CLAIMED HE PROVED OBAMA WAS NOT AN AMERICAN (how did his bitherism not become a thing in 2016 election?)
To be perfectly honest Donald Trump is the same lying, conniving, thieving, sex offending, racist, sexist, ignorant, arrogant, most disgusting, foolish Prick with the world's worst comb-over he's ALWAYS been.
