My take on the legality of a Manafort pardon: when Cohen revealed that Trump knew of and approved Manafortand othersmeeting with Russian agents to get stolen Clinton materials 3+ weeks ago, it made Trump an unindicted Manafort co-conspirator. POTUS can't pardon co-conspirators.

That is a religious belief. That proposition has never been tested.

(56,071 posts)2. I take it as saying it would be a criminal act to do so
Surely he can in the sense that he has the power and it would be a legally valid pardon if he did it.
But it would also constitute an act of say, obstruction of justice, maybe witness tampering, etc.

(6,214 posts)3. We will find out soon!
If tRump is going to pardon, it could come soon after all Manafort trials are over. Manafort already has a prison term coming, and most likely more wil be added after the oncoming trials.
