Newt has been all over the TV these past three or four days

It reminds me of the description of Newt I saw late last year:

"Newt Gingrich is what stupid people think smart people sound like."

1. I'm wondering if in Newt's head he's sensing

a potential Romney implosion, and somehow he'll be called on to step in and save things at the last minute. I wouldn't put it past his ego.

Or maybe he smells Romney blood in the water, and sees this as his chance to extract some revenge by inflicting a few bites himself.

3. Someone took a dollar out of his pocket in the tv studio

Newt smelled it several miles away and came running. He would have gotten there quicker but he had to push past Sarah Palin running through the door.
