He doesn't want to be associated with a losing ticket, it will kill his chances for 2016 and he knows it.

Don't think his abrasiveness would necessarily play well in the rest of the country. I could be wrong.
Portman--relatively unknown and uncontroversial. A safe bet after the Caribou Barbie gamble.

Romney choosing a lobbyist that is tied to some pretty awful people, would be stupid. But I still think Romney may choose him.

I would love Christie, he's a loose cannon, and he and Romney's anger issues would make quite a show. they could just scream at the audience, like Lewis Black, without the humor or wit.

He would not even win his home state. Of course Mittens is going to lose MA big time as well.
The only reason Christie is gov of NJ is the (sadly, true) corruption of Jon Corzine.

Romney needs someone who can help bring him a swing state. Even with Christie on the ballot, there is just not a prayer of Romney winning NJ.

That's why I give him an equal chance with the others. Simply because you KNOW that the Koch brothers want that asshole. Stupid move on Romney's part, because he would be screwing the only base he has... the elderly.

Oddly, the final deciding factor for me is how closed mouth he can be. I realizing more and more that's something Romney would demand in a running mate. For very good reason.

The man is as forgettable as last Monday's lunch.

I'm from Ohio, I follow politics here like a religion, and I still can't tell you anything distinctive about the man at all. He blends into the wallpaper like a pin striped shirt. He'll make Romney look fresh and exciting while offering up his own background bland as a vanilla shake.

Nobody hates vanilla shakes though.
