I think it's a ruse to raise the ANC's flagging poll numbers and fend off serious challenges from EFF.

It will end up harming South Africa's economy and food security.

It will accelerate emigration and brain drain.

That being said, If South African wants to join Zimbabwe in wrecking their economy, chasing away foreign investment and transforming from a food producer to a nation reliant on food aid, that's their sovereign choice and neither Donald Trump nor Mike Pompeo should be sticking their noses in it.

They are making serious mistakes. But they are their own internal mistakes to make. And if anyone is going to lecture them it damm sure shouldn’t be Trump.

I don’t see any path to success the way they are going. It failed in Zimbabwe and if the output of farms they have transferred so far is any indication it doesn’t look like they are doing any better.

The brain drain is real. I have someone from South Africa who works in my company who is a highly educated woman, her family left because they saw instability growing, a lack of opportunities, and no good path foward.

I know someone that used to constantly post about it and he is as racist as it gets. I have argued against him several times that he was on the wrong side. He doesn't actually lower himself to speak to me until his minions come up with something I can refute strongly enough that anyone reading it would have to admit I'm right.
