Sheriff reports "mass shooting" at Jacksonville Landing complex

Authorities in Florida say they are responding to a mass shooting at an outdoor entertainment complex in Jacksonville.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office warned residents to stay "many blocks away" from Jacksonville Landing, an outdoor shopping mall along the St. Johns River.

Unconfirmed reports on social media indicate that the shooting happened at a video game tournament.

No other details have been released.

A Madden tournament. Some reports are saying 9 shot, with four dead so far.

I hate to turn a tragedy immediately political but as a Miamian we've seen this play out in Florida for several years and it's been pivotal to Scott reshaping his image and reversing his approval rating to significant net positive.

Scott will show up in his baseball cap and appear on one televised interview after another, expressing concern and sympathy, etc., while dodging gun control aspects. After all, it's not the time for that.

Police don't know how many people are still hiding, etc. The usual guys are on CNN and just seem to be on autopilot, no real emotion. Fredricka Whitfield had Mark Kelly on earlier (Gabby Giffords husband) and after talking about the shooting she says "Please give us your thoughts on the passing of Senator McCain." Jeez!
