Pence 2020/2024

Just a thought on why they may be holding off on dumping the orange hemorrhoid. If I am correct, in order for Pence to run for president in 2020 and again in 2024 he could not serve more than two years of hemorrhoid's terms.

Just my $0.02

he is certainly allowed to run in 2020 no matter what lapfog_1 Aug 2018 #1
I think Trump would have a much better shot at winning in 2020 than Pence. bearsfootball516 Aug 2018 #2

but yes, if he wants to server 2 full terms then I believe he has to server less than 2 years of Trump's first term.

Constitutional Scholars can weigh in and correct me.

I don't think much of the Republican Party really likes Pence. The cult of Trump probably does not transfer to Pence automatically not to mention that many of the Trumpanzees that are not evangelical will not like the theocracy that would ensue.

At least Trump has a cult following. Pence doesn't, would be weakened due to having to deal with the fallout of a resigned President and is lacks any sense of charisma.

then he can no longer be *elected* president.

If he has served more than 2 years of Donnie's term, he can run as many times as he wants if he keeps losing. As soon as he wins a term he can no longer be elected president again.

However, he could still become president again through other means, e.g., becoming speaker of the house and then becoming president via succession.
