What will Republicans say once Trump is disgraced? "He was always a Democrat, never a Republican."

I'm reading David Frum's book Trumpocracy.* The subject line is from his book. Republicans will just slough him off and blame the Democrats for all his evil deeds. The GOP will say "He was always a Democrat and enacted Democratic policies, not conservative ones. Trump is what you get when you elect Democrats."

It's been driving me nuts all day because I can just hear them now, blaming us for Trump.

* I thought I might get some insight, learn something from reading anti Trump books written by Republicans. I've read Rick Wilson's book Everything Trump touches Dies and started Trumpocracy. Can't recommend either of them. They both say what we have been saying all along BUT they trash Democrats in unfair ways. IMHO

the Repugs will not take responsibility for their grave errors.

Blame somebody else. Remember the "autopsy" they did a few years ago - all that talk about being more inclusive?

Yea, right. That never happened.

The Republicans have been far too up his ass to shake the Trump stank that easily.

When Trump goes down, the GOP will have a lot of 'splainin' to do. But they've gone too far for "the Democrats made us elect a pussy-grabbing, lying, corrupt traitor" excuse to to get much traction.

I've no doubt there has been a LOT of discussion among the PTB in the GOP of late, trying to figure out what to say when the inevitable happens. I suspect the first line of defense will be "OMG! We had NO idea he was exactly who he showed us he was!"

...he would contribute to whatever politicians or whatever Party that was best for him. He found a Party that was looking for a narcissistic demagogue.
