Should presidential pardoning power be limited?

If no, then why not? How do you stop it from being abused? I can see Trump telling his family and cabinet not to testify before congress, and if they are held in contempt, he will just pardon them.

If yes, then how would you limit them? Involve congress? The SCOTUS to review them? How?

Perhaps. But, you see, any such limits would have to come through MineralMan Aug 2018 #1

the constitutional amendment process. They are defined in the Constitution. Any changes would require changing that document. The courts and Congress cannot do that without passing a constitutional amendment and getting it ratified by the required number of states.

At this time, that process would be impossible. So, next question?
