Why isn't Google entitled to the same freedom of the press as the sites they refer their users to?

If websites have the constitutional right to publish what they wish, Google has an equal right to return any search results they wish. I believe Google's claim that they strive to be unbiased, but at the same time, I don't see how they would be doing anything illegal even if their search results were biased.
