Beto could actually beat Cruz...

Never thought I'd see this kind of response to a Democratic candidate in this deep red part of the state https://www.theeagle.com/news/local/hundreds-turn-out-for-beto-o-rourke-s-town-hall/article_2a46d8b5-60b6-5e18-a34f-132b01430c83.html Beto filled the VFW hall! Wow! I'm amazed! That was last Saturday so the following Friday Trump announces he wants to come to Texas to stump for Cruz. Worried a little Trumpsters? ehehheheh

We beat Cruz if we can get the vote out. Apathy has been a roadblock for some time. Many people feel that the repubs will win no matter what and so why vote.

.....What do all of these young, new candidates like Beto, who people are excited about all have in common?

They are walking the streets. They are knocking on doors. They are shaking hands and kissing babies. And more importantly......they are listening to people and getting people to listen to them.

This is what politicians should do, whether they are already elected or not.

How many of these sitting Senators who used the excuse that they "needed to get home to campaign" as the reason they pushed through Trump's nominees so they could get home are actually going to be doing this? Or will they instead be at $1,000 a plate campaign fundraisers?

Being a politician is hard fucking work, and I don't just mean the actual legislating and arguing and debating. I mean actually fucking getting out there and listening to people and doing what needs to be done to let the people who elect them know that they are on their side.

The biggest complaint people all across the spectrum have is that politicians are out of touch. Staying true to the job and nature of politics goes a long way toward inoculating against that criticism, and who knows....maybe it actually WILL put these people back in touch with the ones they are claiming to represent.

So exciting to see his strategy of visiting EVERYWHERE and block walks scheduled in all areas every day! Power to the PEOPLE!
