I could be wrong but up until his book and all throughout his campaign she always called him a maverick and a hero.

the book and movie "Game Change"... Apparently McCain did reconcile differences with Schmidt at least before he died.

A movie McCain refused to watch.
Nicole said (crying) that in the end, she could not bring herself to vote for McCain.
Those could be a couple of the reasons.

Both Schmidt and Nicole Wallace have confirmed it was an accurate depiction of what went on.
McCain should have watched it. Everybody should watch it.

It never seemed logical to me that McCain would pick a loose screw like Palin to be his running mate. I always got the feeling that he was forced to have her as vp nominee and he was never happy about it. Any thoughts?
