Will Paul Ryan resign from Congress?

It would be cowardly to seek reelection to his House seat just to have a backup. He should put his money where his mouth is and resign now.

@AlexNBCNews: Should note, per WI law, Ryan is able to stay on ballot for his congressional re-elect AND be on Romney's ticket as VP

He is not going to resign because he knows when he loses on the Romney ticket he will still need a job.

If he does turn out to be the pick, which I assume he is, the RNC will have made him a sweet deal.

He'll be getting insane amounts of money funneled into his reelection via Super PACs.

Watch. See if it doesn't happen.

9. He doesn't have to. If he did have to resign and leave an empty seat he wouldn't have been chosen.

He'd have to give up living in his office for free in the Capitol. Although I expect he'll being moving somewhere else now for the duration of the campaign.

11. You stay on the ballot because it is a lock you will win (like Biden did)

It is a lock you will win the house or senate seat, and if you win the big election the GOV has to pick a same party replacement (same party in most states anyway)
