If you read that NYT "anonymous senior official" OP-ED, make sure you don't miss this part.

Don’t get me wrong. There are bright spots that the near-ceaseless negative coverage of the administration fails to capture: effective deregulation, historic tax reform, a more robust military and more.

But these successes have come despite — not because of — the president’s leadership style, which is impetuous, adversarial, petty and ineffective.

It basically says "We did all of the legislative work you've seen and tried to keep Trump from burning down the building".

They obviously thought they could control him, & who wouldn't stick around for that?

All the power without having to take the heat? That they are now owning this tells me that they see the writing's on the wall, and they're working to create a narrative that insulates them from going down with the ship - the "Steady State." Gag me.

It's a call for President Pence.

Because the author of that piece likes things JUST THE WAY THEY ARE.

What they DO NOT LIKE is the scandal / publicity surrounding Trump.

They don't like the tweets.

They LOVE the tax cuts, dismantling the Obama legacy, and everything else that goes with it.

They want the RESULTS without the SCRUTINY.

The article is horseshit, and cowardly.

by right-wingers for right-wingers.

The left who see this as heroism of any sort need to remember who these people are and what they want (as spelled out in that quote).

Then he's no more suited for the position he has usurped than Trump is.
