In Watergate I the news on illegal activities came out about lots of things.
..............not just the break in.
..............It was the "cover up"
..............It was the hearings..
..............It was the media digging up stuff.
..............It was the lies and arguments....back and forth..over and over..
..............It extensive nature and involvement of so many people..
..............It was amazing to watch and experience.
..............It was new crap coming out all the time on different subjects but related......................
...............to"the lying evil crooks.
In Watergate II..the news is on illegal activities about lots of different things.
..............It was not just Russian Collusion.
..............It was the "cover up"
..............There are hearings going on today..( live hearings where one can follow)
..............Media is still digging up stuff.
..............Lies and arguments back and forth...over and over..
..............Extensive nature and involvement of so many people ...(are more coming?)
..............Amazing to watch and experience.....like an never ending battle for "truth and justice"
..............It feels like new crap is coming out all of the time....HUGE DOCUMENT DROP at last minute???
..............different subjects, but related to....... "the lying evil crooks"
Is the show similar to Watergate I ..As someone who experienced Watergate I..and followed it extensively, Yes, it is like Watergate I.........therefore Watergate I and Watergate II are so similar and yet so different but the bottom line is..................."lying evil crooks" ............................

WASHINGTON, Feb. 22, 1975John N. Mitchell, H. R. Haldeman and John D. Ehrlichman, three of the most powerful men in the nation during the Nixon Administration, were sentenced today to serve two and a half to eight years in prison for their roles in the Watergate cover‐up. went to jail.
.It was a very big deal........John N. Mitchell was the Atty General of the United States.
.......................................H.R. Haldeman and John D. Ehrlichman were Nixon's closest advisors..
For those of us who lived through it, it was ..VERY HUGE DEAL.!!!!!!!

(7,997 posts)and yes, it was/is a very big deal. I was comparing it to the mess we have now which is so much worse. Candy store robbery was the best I could think of on short notice in comparison to trump. Nixon was a crook. trump is a traitor, not in the legal sense perhaps, but certainly his mindset is traitorous.

(38,414 posts)Collusion with a foreign enemy is worse than breaking and entering. And you are correct again, interfering in an election with possibly changing the outcome is also worse covering up which is what Nixon did. But in a couple of ways they are similar. First, a number of the crooks went to or are going to jail. Second, I think that Trump will be forced to or resign on his own. And he will be gone and the VP will take over for the remainder of the term. Exactly what happened to Nixon....But, I am not a fortune teller and anything can happen.
For example: the very last person I thought would be president is Donald Trump..

(7,997 posts)I wish we had gotten rid of Pence the way we got rid of Agnew. Ford was a bumbling, ineffective president who pardoned Nixon, but my biggest worry about him was that he'd fall and hurt a bystander.
