fascinating (albeit scary) to be in a time where there's a debate about the nature of government

coming of age in the 70's, democrats and republicans seemed to agree on the nature of government.

we were a democracy, and government set out to do what was in the best interests of the people.
there were policy differences, of course. democrats believed in helping people directly, while republicans believed the best way to help people was to help businesses to give them jobs, etc. but the end goal was always stated as doing the best for the people, and politicians always sought votes from everyone. all the people.

republicans now believe in a completely different model. they believe in gaining office however the can, through legal or illegal maneuvering, through ethical or unethical actions.
they believe in taking as much money as possible from people, businesses, and even foreign money funneled through shell companies to conceal it origins.
they believe in using the powers of office to pay back big donors.
they believe in using the powers of office to conceal the truth from the public, to ram through appointments that they know would be even more unpopular if the public knew the truth. and they believe in falsely claiming "national security" or "executive privilege" to conceal those embarrassing partisan facts.

these things go way beyond mere policy disputes.

the very nature of our government is up for election these next two cycles, at least.

we need to vote to protect our democracy.
we may need to do even more than merely vote.

they also believe in not counting our votes....

Their "party" is a domestic terrorist organization working in orchestration with the NRA and the Russian organized crime syndicate to destroy our government and enslave eventually the world's population. Along with the Russians, they will create a global organized crime cabal that will bleed the wealth of not just the people of the US but of the world as well.
