That was the text of Trump's oft-maligned tweet this morning.
To give the 'businessman' a non-snarky answer, it was just reported that Nike's online sales jumped 31% after the news broke about the new ad campaign. So, maybe they were thinking about a money-making move that also fought against the climate of racism that is present in this society and endemic in this Administration.
And, while their stock price did drop about 3% when the story hit, it has since recovered much of that drop and is still trading near its two year high.
So, unlike you, maybe they were actually thinking.

(4,407 posts)Because of the new ad campaign. I had been an ardent follower of prior Nike boycotts related to labor issues, but the opportunity to piss off right-wingers by just wearing a logo was a temptation I just could not pass up.

(12,645 posts)along with the massive non-American/non-white markets both local and global that are willing to buy products that show diversity and challenge conventional thinking, companies are beginning to realize it doesn't matter that much to their bottom line if they are careful to pander to racists and bigots anymore.

(82,849 posts)It looks like Nike doesn't think their opinions are anything to be concerned about, irrelevant. Will these Nazis stand for this? Will they just allow themselves to be ignored?

(5,272 posts)support behind his stance, for the sake of visibility and sticking it to the fuckers who would have gotten off on burying him. The best news is that this represents Nike knowing who their customers are and sticking their finger in the wind and wanting to be on the right side of history... even get a little credit for it.
The bad news is, this was calculated business, and as has been reported, some Nike CEO just cut a million dollar check to the GOP in some state. Granted, that's an individual executive rather than the brand itself, but I don't like feeling like I'm being played for a buck. I rarely buy shoes, but yesterday i was considering buying a pair in support...but I'm torn.

I have a nice all blue Nike golf shirt (no logos or writing except the swoosh on the sleeve) that I received or playing in a charity golf tournament. I am going to the South Carolina-Georgia game tomorrow and typically wear a garnet shirt to support the Gamecocks, but will wear the Nike shirt instead.
If I get any comments, I intend to say, "If you disagree with it, just ignore it the way Trump ignores the reason behind Kaepernick's protest."
