Is there anything creative, Democrats could attempt to stop Kavanaugh? Shutting down the Gov maybe?

Last edited Sun Sep 9, 2018, 12:58 AM - Edit history (1)

Is there anything that they could try to push this passed the midterms? There should be more of an all out war going on from Dems across the board. We should also be organizing in the streets doing massive protests. I don't think enough is being done. What they did to Obama not to mention Russians the the FBI helping Trump get in by the skin of his teeth? This is all so fucking wrong! He is going to cause MAJOR damage to this country and we need to start thinking creatively and figure out anything we can to possibly stop this. I know it's a huge long shot but we can't go quietly on this.

they can't shut the govt. down.

All I can say is what was told to me earlier today by a wise DU'er, keep calling your Sen. and letting them know how you feel, other than that....

however, McConnell took away the Dems only tool to stop Kavanaugh, the Filibuster, instead of needing 60 votes to confirm, all they need now is a simple majority, which the pubs have.

I really don't see a way to stop this at this point in time, all I can say is keep pounding your Senators with your calls telling them to vote no.

that's the House, the Senate tries and either convicts and removes or acquits. It will take 67 Senators to convict and remove Kavanaugh, which just ain't going to happen.

criminal complaint, it will be dismissed out of hand.

Only the state (municipal, state or federal district attorney) has the power to file a criminal complaint.

This isn't the first time they've done this, every time they've filed a criminal complaint, it's been dismissed due to lack of standing.

I went to an anti Kavanaigh protest two weeks ago (posted the events here a lot). Also have been calling the senators (also posted contact info here a lot). I will keep it up until it is really over.
Here is contact info. for calling certain Dem and GOP senators.

in the future depending on how they vote for Kavanaugh. I don't think it will be an issue that they will really remember in all honesty. I think more local issues will be the deciding factors. I could be wrong but that is the feeling I am getting.

which is why it is so dumb for some to rail against the DINO's from the red states. We need every Joe Manchin we can get, if we're ever going to get and keep a Senate majority.

President Donald Trump is threatening to shut down the government — again — this time because he thinks it would be politically advantageous for him.

“I would do it because I think it’s a great political issue,” Trump told reporters Friday, saying the people he watches on TV — Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, and Rush Limbaugh — all think shutting down the government is the “greatest thing you can do.”
